>Tortellini with Basil Pesto Cream Sauce


You just drooled on yourself, didn’t you?

Well, you should have. This one is a winner winner, tortellini dinner.

Please…please do not skimp and substitute half and half for the heavy cream. Come on people – live a little.


3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup prepared pesto sauce (I used instant, from the packet, and it was fab.)
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup parmesan cheese, shredded

1.) Heat heavy whipping cream and water in a small, heavy saucepan over medium heat until hot but not boiling.
2.) Add butter, pesto sauce, garlic powder and salt. Reduce heat and continue to cook about 5 more minutes over low heat.
3.) Stir in 1/2 cup parmesan cheese until melted.

Pour over prepared cheese tortellini or whatever your fave pasta is. I also added grilled chicken and it was super yummy!
