I am forever impressed with people who are constantly creating. They see things in a different way than the rest of us. Like “Oh! Look at this lovely, rusting and rotted old trunk!” And then they make it into a coffee table that would make Restoration Hardware fall all over themselves. I, on the other hand, see a painting and think “I can recreate that.” And I sit down and painstakingly create a masterpiece worthy of a kindergarten finger-painting blue ribbon.
I just don’t have that kind of eye. Or at least, my strokes of creative genius are so few and far between that it’s hardly worth mentioning. Still, many of the blogs I read regularly are creative design and inspiration kinds of blogs. I think “man! I could have thought of that…what a good idea.” Hindsight is 20/20.
One of my new favorite creative blogging friends, who is also an IRL (in real life) friend, is Meghan. She was my suitemate in college freshman year. Even then I always loved seeing what masterpieces she was coming up with in her prerequisite art classes.
She lives in Nashville too now, and I don’t see her nearly often enough. Thankfully though, she’s just entered the blogging world so I can keep up with her creativity every day. And you should too.
For example, here is her Thanksgiving table. I don’t know about you, but mine didn’t look like this.
And, Meghan just started her new job at Cake Vintage Table and Home, which is swoon worthy. I often run by this store and think how I”d love to go in but they’d probably immediately know I wasn’t trendy/vintage/creative enough to own anything they sell! Imposter! 🙂 So basically, Meghan will be their perfect addition, I’m sure.
Go pay her a visit at her new blog, Megaloves Design, and show the love. Welcome to the blogging world, Megs!
